Does the American Taxpayer Fund Terrorist Groups Abroad? According to Operation Timber Sycamore, We Do.
Since September 11th, 2001, the United States has supposedly led the effort in the War on Terror, but a classified CIA led weapons supply and training program codenamed Operation Timber Sycamore shows something that proves this "War on Terror" is nothing but a facade to perpetuate endless war in the name of Corporate profits.
Operation Timber Sycamore was heavily supported by Saudi Arabia, along with several Arab affiliates surrounding Syria. Starting around 2012, its goals were to supply money, weaponry, and training to jihadist terrorist groups posing as Syrian rebels who were fighting to overthrow Bashar al-Assad, President of Syria. Since it began, Timber Sycamore has reportedly armed, funded, and trained thousands of "rebels" to take part in the Syrian Civil War.
Timber Sycamore was secretly initiated by the CIA a year before being again secretly authorized to go into effect by the Obama Administration, all without congressional authorization. Congress, along with the American public, was totally blind to the existence of this program. The existence of Timber Sycamore only came to light after the United Staes Federal Business Opportunities website made public the contract bids to ship tons of weaponry from Eastern Europe to Turkey and Jordan, from there the US made weapons were dispersed to their designated jihadist groups.
Arming, funding, and training terrorists isn't anything new for the CIA to do though, Timber Sycamore is extremely similar to previous weapons routing and training programs used by the United States to do regime change all around the world, most recently in Libya, which is now a failed state that has slave trading out in the open.
Although it is rarely discussed, the epidemic that is plaguing Syria as we speak was initiated by US-Saudi backed jihadist groups who's only goal was to topple the Syrian Government, creating a power vacuum that could only then be filled by those same terrorist groups. One cannot seriously say that the United States is leading the global fight against terrorism while it is simultaneously funding terrorist groups to achieve their foreign policy goals. One cannot say that the United States has any credibility left on the international stage when we directly arm, fund, and train the very same people who attacked the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001.
If not anything else, just always remember that the US Government is using your hard earned taxpayer dollars to fund jihadist terrorists groups around the world.
